Mrs. Gussie McNair Kyles was born to the late Mr. Oscar McNair and Mrs. Erie Moore McNair on February 20,1906, in Coffee Springs, Alabama. Mrs. Gussie was the fifth of nine children.

Mrs. Gussie was educated in Geneva County Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Later in life, Mrs. Gussie moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she met and married Mr. Mantley Kyles, and attended the Jehovahs Witness Hall. Later she moved back to her native home, and reunited with the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, until she departed this life March 2, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Gussie leaves to mourn her passing: a daughter in-law; Ophelia Thomas, three grandsons; Robert Jr., Jerome C., and Alvin L. Thomas, two daughters-in-law; Gwendolyn and Barbara Thomas, five great-great grand children; Jerome Jr., Van Donya, LaDonna, Dionne, and Kenya; two great-great-great-grandchildren, Van Donya Jr. and Shequia Thomas; several devoted nieces & nephews; Margaret Yates, Effie McNair, Oli McNair, Jo Marva Howard, David McNair, Alvin McNair Jr, Morris McNair; two sisters-in-law, Carrie Weeks and Zettima Holloway (Mike); two brothers in-law, Lushers Kyles and Ray L. (Essie) Kyles; a host of other relatives and friends.
